Our tours begin with a 20 to 30 minute briefing on the use of the Segways.

The Cologne tours start at the Jan von Werth Chocolaterie on the Alter Markt in Cologne.

Food and drinks are not included in our tour prices.

If fewer than 2 participants register for your booked Cologne tour, the tour may be canceled approx. 12 hours beforehand by phone or email. We ask for your understanding in this regard.

If, based on the weather forecast, it is foreseeable that it will rain on your tour date, we may cancel the tour up to 12 hours beforehand. In this case, we will also inform you by phone or email. If it rains despite the forecast having indicated otherwise, your tour guide will decide whether the tour will take place at the meeting point. In general, the tour is designed so that short breaks to take shelter from a rain shower are no problem.

We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes (no high heels) and clothing suitable for the weather (we recommend warm clothing and gloves for temperatures below 15°C / 59°F). In sunny weather, it is recommended you bring sunglasses and wear sunscreen.

You are welcome to leave personal items / luggage on our premises during the tour.

The minimum age to take part in a Segway tour is 14.

The briefing on safe use of a Segway is mandatory.

Helmets are mandatory between the ages of 14 and 18. We recommend also wearing a helmet for everyone over the age of 18. If you do not have a helmet, we are happy to provide you with one. Additionally, wearing a face mask during the pandemic is mandatory.

You will be fully instructed in the use of the Segway. You are only allowed to drive the Segway after completing the instruction.

Only step on the Segway when the indicating cross in the center lights up completely, do not jump off while driving.

Leave both feet on the Segway platform – the pressure sensors need to be pushed down. Minimum body weight 45 kg (99 lbs), maximum weight ca. 117 kg (257 lbs).

Keep both hands on the handlebars, do not drive hands-free.

Please start by driving at a slow walking pace and keep a sufficient distance from the person in front of you.

ATTENTION: Driving backwards ALWAYS goes wrong and is therefore NOT ALLOWED!

During the tour, you must drive in the designated areas.

It is essential that you follow our tour guide’s instructions during the tour.

After completing the tour, the Segway must be returned.

If the lights flash red or if the platform shakes, the driver must brake and leave the Segway immediately. A safety shutdown may occur!

The use of the Segway as well as the participation in all activities happens exclusively and without restriction at your own risk.

Participation in the tour or on the course is only permitted for those who have read and signed our disclaimer.

Segway and Segway Point Köln take no liability for damage caused in particular by the operation of Segways, unless the damage was caused by Segway, Segway Point Köln or its employees with gross negligence or intent. The exclusion of liability does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health or to damages from the breach of cardinal obligations, provided that the damage is caused by Segway Point Köln or its employees.

Every user of the Segway bears civil and criminal responsibility for personal injury, property damage and financial damage caused by the Segway driven by them.

The use of the Segway is not permitted for people suffering from physical disabilities or who are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.

We expressly point out the particular risk for people with heart problems and high blood pressure.

Photos that are taken on the tours may – if not contradicted in writing – be published for advertising purposes or on the website.

Segway and Segway Tours Köln assume no liability for damage caused by their own or third-party negligence, accidents or improper handling, or because instructions from Segway Point Köln or its employees were not followed. Liability for negligent breaches of cardinal obligations towards corporations is also excluded. Liability for third parties is excluded. Deductible in the event of damage: up to € 250.
